1st Visit to Garvagh (Part 1)

This week we are in Garvagh, NI, at Granny and Grandad's... Ellen first time here!  We travelled on the ferry from Birkenhead to Belfast... an 8-hour journey...on Saturday.  Granny and Grandad were happy to show off Ellen to friends at their church on Sunday.   Jeff's brother, Gordon, arrived from Edinburgh Monday, and that afternoon we went to Portstewart Strand for Ellen's first time on the beach!  For once it was actually sunny and not overly cool.  Afterwards, we drove to Morelli's in Portstewart for a very important ice cream stop! 

 

 

 

 

On Tuesday morning we took Ellen swimming in Ballymoney. Although she and I have been swimming in Shrewsbury twice before, Jeff saw her swim and kick for the first time, while Granny sat in the viewing area... but she was prohibited from taking any pictures!  On Tuesday evening we were invited to friends, Beverly and Johnny Madden with their kids Rachael and Joel, for supper.


Yesterday we all went to Giant's Causeway (website), one of my favorite places due to unique rock formations and scenery. Luckily we got some pictures taken before the rain blew in. Afterwards we NEEDED to have lunch at Morelli's... and have more ice cream.
